Some people were born with confidence, and others had to gain it throughout time.
Me, I had to gain confidence. I think I fully became confident in myself when I got into college. I honestly went through that awkward phase growing up, and for whatever reason, these young kids are not going through that same phase.
However, that’s a story for another day!
I wanted to share with you 3 Tips to Boost your Confidence.
Take care of yourself –
Now when I say take care of yourself, I mean physically (right now). Water is your best friend! While I was growing up, it was almost impossible for me to drink water. Now, I have too! Water helps clear your skin. Increase your water intake! You will feel so much better. Also, Workout! Now, you do not have to be a fitness guru or even lift. You could only walk around the block, go to YouTube and look up yoga videos (and do yoga at home), take a Zumba class, ANYTHING! When you are staying active by moving around it will always help you feel your best because you are forcing your body to be active. You will look good and feel good. Remember, taking care of yourself is key to boosting your confidence.
Positive People –
You may think that sounds obvious, but I promise it’s not. Some people are not as positive as you think (even though they claim to be). I went through the same thing, and I am so happy to be out of that situation. Blessing in disguise! You need to surround yourself with people that want to see you make it life. People that will watch you struggle and not give up on you, but encourage and support you. If you surround yourself with negative people, you won’t be happy at all, and you will lack confidence. You’ll have to be careful because some people can pretend to be positive and deep down they are a negative nancy, and they might not even know it themselves. Surround yourself with happiness and a fantastic support team!
Do what makes you happy-
Whether it is a job or a hobby, you HAVE to do things in life that makes you happy. I’ve realized I am so much happier now that I am going to the gym and working on my blogs and social media. Now, don’t get me wrong I don’t live in the gym, but I try to go 3-4 times a week and to write a post, and social media also help with my internal happiness. It may sound strange to some people, but we all have different hobbies and interest. I recommend finding one that suits you best and do it. If it is your job that is making you unhappy, leave it.
You probably read that last sentence, and you think I am crazy, but check this out. We have one life to live, and it is short. Why do what makes you unhappy. If you are not satisfied with your current job, look for another job on the side, perfect your resume, and go to interviews. I had to do it myself! It was miserable, and my mental state was struggling. I realized I had to make a change. If you just want to get out of your current job/company find another that will make you happy, and no it won’t happen overnight, and it may take time, but still, go for it. You have to do what makes you happy. Remember, we are at work at least 40 hours a week and that a long time to be at a place we are depressed out. So, yes a job you love will help your confidence in ways you never realized.
