Top 5 Things to do in San Antonio

The host city of the 2018 Men’s Final Four, San Antonio, Texas. Pretty awesome, right? This past week in San Antonio has been crazy, and we all loved it! To bad it doesn’t happen every year here because it would definitely be on the top 5 things to do in San Antonio list.

I promise I am not biased, but this was the perfect location for the 2018 Final Four. San Antonio is the seventh largest city in the country, and it is a tourist city, so I mean how could you go wrong?

The Top 5 Things to do in San Antonio

A lot of people google what to do in San Antonio or Top 5 Things to do in San Antonio, so for all of my friends, I decided to help out and tell you guys the top 5 things to do in San Antonio!

The Pearl

Literally, I love this location! It is downtown and on the Riverwalk, but it is away from the chaos, and you’ll see a lot of locals here (people always want to do what the locals do). The Pearl District http://atpearl.com/ has a fantastic hotel, Hotel Emma and fun fact: it used to be an actual brewery.

The elegance and craftsmanship of Hotel Emma is not something you see at every hotel. You can see the time and consideration they put into creating the iconic boutique hotel. Also, the left certain parts of the brewery itself in the hotel.

The Pearl is a place where people go to hang out and relax with coffee shops, restaurants, dog area, live music, bakery, shops, and more! I always recommend it when I see a tourist, because well you won’t see it anywhere else in the world! It is seriously one of the top 5 things to do in San Antonio.

Japanese Tea Garden

I love this place because it is beautiful and peaceful. If you want to take gorgeous photos, this is definitely a place to consider!
It is free admission and is open 365 days a year. It is also a great place to have an event or do wedding packages! Click here for more on the Japanese Tea Garden.

The Alamo

The Alamo is a historic spot in San Antonio, so yes that is on the top 5 things to do in San Antonio. If you know Texas history you know about the Battle at the Alamo, it was a critical part of the Texas Revolution.

Quick history fact:

The Mexican troops launched an assault on the Alamo Mission in San Antonio, and it killed the Texian (residents of Mexican Texas) defenders. For more click here.

Art Museums

Briscoe Western Art Museum this is not a free event, but admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, students, and retired military.

The Art Museum has different areas for education, engaging exhibitions, and public events. It is a fantastic place to learn art, history, and culture.

I remember when I worked downtown, and the Briscoe Museum had prom there, and it sounded like it was terrific! You too can have a wedding or a corporate event there, contact information here.

McNay Art Museum has Medieval and Renaissance art from the 19th – through the 21st century.

They do have self-guided/audio tours, which I am extremely interested in as well as Student Tours, Adult Tours, and Drop-in Tours.

San Antonio Missions

The San Antonio Missions obviously made the list because well, it is San Antonio history, so it should be featured on the Top 5 things to do in San Antonio.

There are four missions, and it is a National Historic Park that has around 300 years of history and culture!

San Antonio is turning 300 this year.

The four missions are Mission San Jose, Mission Concepcion, Mission San Juan, and Mission Espada. The missions have active Catholic services. Not only do they still have services, but you can have special services there as well. Click here for more information.
