So, you clicked on this blog post, super excited because you are ready to get your dream job! You thought you were going to hear from this super awesome person who has it all together (**side note: I still think I am super awesome). Well, I hate disappointing, but I don’t have it all together. That does not mean we cannot help each other! I want your dream job and to be honest with you…I don’t have my dream job yet. However, I am still working my butt off to get my dream job, and that will never stop. And honestly, it should not stop for you either!
You may be serving at a restaurant, bartending, working the front desk, or whatever it is that you are doing that is not what you want to do. I get it and totally understand. You are not at your dream job yet, and you feel like time is just going by and you’re stuck. Stuck in your same spot/position and all you want to do is succeed and be happy while doing it. Have I told you, I get it! I really do, I want my dream job too, more than anything!
I want to tell you what my dream job is and I think I may have mentioned it you before. I want to be a Full-Time Blogger who helps small businesses and organizations with their online marketing. There you have it, my dream job. It is totally possible! However, at times, I feel like my dream is so far away. I will not lie to you and act as if I am perfect. There are many times I feel defeated and self-conscious about not living my dream. But you have to remain positive, that is the only way to make it.
So, how to get you dream job. Here is what I think you should do and what I do myself:
I met with a CEO who taught me the importance of Career Mapping and it is true! You need to do it! Mapping out what you want and need to do (it is nothing but goal setting) is important for you to do if you want to be successful. Having visual representation of your goals will help you achieve your goals. That my friends is a fact!
Think about it, when you do your career map for your future, you are listing the goals in areas needed to achieve your overall career goal. Make sense? If not, read on for my next breakdown.
With a career map, you are listing not only your career goal and the time frame you want to achieve them, but educational goals (if needed), and family goals. Now, remember, everything plays an important factor whether you realize it or not!
You have to, and I mean have to be positive. I wrote a post a month or two ago about things to tell yourself daily check that out if you need more motivation!
If you envision it, you shall see it! I am a firm believer in that saying. Honestly, if you are constantly being hard on yourself and always saying and believing negative things. Positivity will not come your way, and you just may lose out on your dream job, unfortunately.

Don't you dare, GIVE UP! You BETTER work towards your goals. Remember, you are the only one who can hold yourself back (and that is a fact).
I know at times it is hard, but I promise you it will all be worth it in the end. I am not perfect, and there are times I completely doubt my self because I am not where I want to be and I am not doing my dream job, but I remember a saying my mom would tell me growing up, “Present Pain. Future Happiness.”
