Hola friends, today, I want to be completely transparent with you guys. As many of you all know, we do not own Instagram or Facebook. That is definitely Mark Zuckerburg. So, when Instagram goes down, how do we connect with our audience, our ideal clients? How are we communicating? Well, we can’t unless we utilize our email list. Yes, an email list is important.
If you are ANYTHING like me, then you are (or were) probably trying to ignore the fact that you need an email list. Well, buddy, I am sorry to tell you this, but you NEED an email list. Yes, it is a necessity, and it is highly recommended by any business owner.
If you want to continue to grow your business and communicate with potential clients, you need to have a way to contact them directly and not only rely on Instagram.
So, let’s get started, friends.
I want to tell you why an email list is important. So below, you will see 4 reasons why an email list important.
Friends, make sure you bookmark, share and pin this blog post because you may want to reference this!
You "OWN" your Audience
Have you heard this before?
Maybe you have from the most prominent bloggers out there, because they are always preaching about growing your email list. Well, friends…they are right.
When you “own” your email list that simply means it is yours FOREVER (unless they unsubscribe).
You know when Instagram goes down, we are all super panicky right? We go to Facebook or Twitter to find out if #instagramisdown. You know you are guilty of it!
Don’t worry, I do the same thing.
So, check this out – what if you Instagram was down for an entire week.
How will you communicate with your audience?
Are you going to go an entire week with providing value to your community?
Are you nervous because of the old saying, "out of sight out of mind"?
Do you think you can possibly miss out on potential clients?
If you had an email address, guess what? You will not have to worry too much when it comes to providing to your audience or getting clients.
Now, if you know me or if you have been following me for a while, you know that I am so pro-community over competition.
Yes, you can (and I encourage) building relationships on Instagram. I do it ALL THE TIME.
However, you can also build relationships with your email subscribers. The way to build relationships is to nurture your audience no matter what platform you are using.
Especially your email list! These people will help your business succeed. My goal with my email list is for them to always know that I am right there to help them. Honestly, I try to respond to all of the emails that I can from my subbies because I want them to know that:
their support is appreciated
I value them
they are IMPORTANT
So, if you a blogger, you are continually giving value through your blog post or on your social media platforms.
If you are a business owner, then you are giving value in other ways such as social media, networking events, and etc.
There is a strong possibility that you feel the way that I felt, and that is, “I am already providing value. I don’t want to seem repetitive” or “I don’t know what to say.”
Have you heard of repurposing content?
It is something that I have decided to do WAY MORE IN 2019, and I am so happy about it because as a content creator, it relieves a lot of stress.
Basically, what I am saying friends…
Repurpose your old blog post into emails (mini-lessons, mini takeaways). Also, you can do an email series or email course.
There is content out in the world to present to your email list.
Always make sure you provide value to your audience. If not, what are they getting out of it?
If they are not receiving knowledge or anything of that nature, you are not providing value, and they will possibly unsubscribe.
Turn your Email Subscribers to Paying Clients
So, this is one that I am excited about because this is just another method of getting clients.
