How to Engage with your Ideal Client Online

Hi Social Boss Babes! I am always talking to you about online marketing and how to make your online presence truly work for you. Today, I want to go into detail about how to engage with your ideal client. Let’s be honest – if you are a service-based business engaging with your ideal client is huge, but on a whole different level. 

Liking certain posts may not just be enough; you may have to go the extra mile. Don’t worry; it is not as hard as you may think! 

When I first started along with my business, I did not realize how engaging truly mattered. 

How embarrassing to say, but I am excited to share my mistakes with you because I do not want you to make the same mistakes that I have in my past.

I am going to be quite honest with you, honestly…I was looking for engagement pods. 

Yes, you read that right – engagement pods. This was the beginning and remember that I started in the blogging world and its something that everyone (almost everyone) did and made it seem acceptable. However, when I shifted my brand – I realize that way was not the most effective. 

 

Let me first explain why you should not do engagement pods: 

Not reaching your ideal client
People, not learning or receiving value from your content.
Those people most likely not buy from you because they are not your ideal clients
They don’t care about your content – they are just completing the thread

That makes sense, right? 

If you are using these social platforms for business, then engagement pods aren’t the right way to go…

I invested my time and finances, and I realized how I needed to handle things going forward. 

The answer = engage with your ideal clients. 

Today, you are going to learn how to engage with your ideal client because you have to let them know that you exist. 

Engage with your Ideal Client by using these different techniques:

  1. FOLLOW YOUR IDEAL CLIENT
  2. LIKE THE PHOTOS OF YOUR IDEAL CLIENT
  3. COMMENT ON THE PHOTOS OF YOUR IDEAL CLIENT
  4. GO TO BIGGER ACCOUNTS (in your niche) AND ENGAGE WITH THEIR AUDIENCE 
  5. DM YOUR IDEAL CLIENT
  6. RESPOND TO THEIR STORIES

I gave you six examples of how to engage with your ideal client and girl – they work! 

NEVER WILL I EVER steer you wrong!

Follow your ideal client. 

I get it. Maybe you are thinking, why would I follow them? Don’t worry; I am going to explain this to you where it makes the perfect sense. 

First things first, get in front of your audience. Let them know that you are here, and you are a fan of theirs. Follow them, and most likely, they’ll follow you back and BOOM CONNECTION. 

This will also help you see their content more and more, and it’ll be easier to make connections. 

Like the photos of your ideal client

Engaging won’t kill you. I promise. 

Let’s say you see someone content, and they look like your ideal client. Like their photo and engage on social media. Remember what I always say; social media is all about being social. 

I notice everyone that likes my photo, and I promise your ideal client will notice you, if not your photo – your name. 

 

Comment on their photos 

In addition to liking a photo take it a step up and comment on your ideal client’s photo. Go the actual mile. You won’t regret it. 

To clarify on commenting, don’t just use “hearts” or smiley faces, don’t even just that’s cute. 

Get meaningful af with you your comments. Show that you care. 

Go to bigger accounts and engage with their audience

It is a free platform and an open audience. 

For example: If you are a fitness coach, go to different accounts of big social media fitness influencers such as: 

  • Syatt
  • Whitney Simmons
  • Ashleigh Jordan

Above all engage with their audience because you know hands down their audience is into fitness, and they can be an ideal client for you! 

DMs

I understand DMs are scary af – trust me, I know. However girl, I am telling you to do it. 

No, I am not telling you to COLD SELL. I am telling you to build connections through the direct messaging feature on Instagram. 

Respond to stories

This is actually something that correlates with DMs, but responding to stories, something meaningful can be a more natural way to slide into the DMs.
