sulfate-free shampoo

Sulfate-Free Shampoo and Conditioner with Formulate

Do you know what sucks just as much as dry hair? Using a shampoo that has sulfate in the ingredients. You need to understand that the new wave (wait, is it new?) is a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner.

OK, friends, you may be wondering what sulfate is? Here ya go…

nounCHEMISTRY
noun: sulphate; plural noun: sulphates; noun: sulfate; plural noun: sulfates
a salt or ester of sulfuric acid, containing the anion SO42− or the divalent group —OSO2O—.

I believe I honestly started using sulfate-free shampoo about a year or two ago. I realized I REALLY wanted to focus on the health of my hair. If you are ANYTHING like me then you are busy and don’t have time for ALL of these different hairstyles, it is extremely time-consuming.

So, I decided that I should at least change my products. That my friends, was my first step and it was so simple! I just started using sulfate-free shampoo. At first, I thought something was wrong with a sulfate-free shampoo that I was using at the time because it did not lather.

WHAAAAT? Your shampoo did not LATHER?!

No, peeps, it did not, and there is a massive misconception that your shampoo is supposed to lather for it to get your hair clean, which is FAKE NEWS! The shampoo does not need to lather, and it can still do a great job at cleansing your hair, and all sulfate-free shampoos do not lather, so do not be alarmed.

Many of you all have seen my natural hair, and it is thick and curly! I can honestly tell the difference with my hair growth from straightening it less and giving my hair nutrients. Now, I am no hair expert, so let me define to you what I mean by hair nutrients (lol)…

I use the LOC Method, and I believe I discussed this before a long time ago on here. After washing my hair with my sulfate-free shampoo (and conditioning of course), I immediately put in leave-in conditioner then oil (I love using my raw coconut oil from Amazon), and the curling cream. Everyone has a different hair regime that they do, but I’ve learned that for my hair that is what works the best!

Everyone’s hair is different so what works for me may not work for you. I recommend to keep going until you get the right regimen going.

Currently, I am using an AMAZING shampoo from Formulate, and I absolutely love it!

Let me give you some Formulate information (below is a screenshot from their website)!

When using Formulate it asks you to describe your hair, whether it is thick, thin, curly dry, oily, I think you get where I am going. After you describe your hair, you inform them of your hair goals.
